They have a nice private outside area with good music playing. The konpa you used to dance to at the birthday parties with nice bass. Convenient drive thru, curbside and pick up options with warm welcoming service. Their to-go packaging is top notch ensuring that your food stays warm longer on the drive home and doesn't leak in the bag. The food is absolutely delicious and very well seasoned. The pikliz is made in the classic hand shredded/knife cut style (not the new minced style) ensuring that the vegetable crispness remains giving a great texture when eaten with other foods. The diri kolé ak pwa is the business and we all know the closer you get to the bottom of the bom the better the experience. The jerk chicken and plantains were spectacular. The portions are awesome and good for sharing. Reminiscent of the old school hospitality of cooking and sharing with visitors like they were family. Feeding them and sending them home with a bellyful and some more for later. I will note that for online ordering it would be nice to have the option to request sos/red sauce, pikliz, extra sauce cups or even included with griot dishes or any dishes that have plantains so you don't have to eat them 'dry'. Especially since dipping plantains in sos is a must then adding that leftover sos on rice is definitely a must. Overall, the experience is wonderful and I'd highly recommend eating here. It was well worth the 451 miles driven down south to eat good home cooked style food that's as close as you can get to your grandmother's kitchen. Kalalou is hands down top notch and gem of Orlando.

We just came back from Kalalous Restaurant in Orlando, and I can confidently say our experience exceeded every expectation. When we first arrived, there was a slight mix up, but chef Daniel quickly stepped in and made sure everything was taken care of. His professionalism and kindness immediately put us at ease. We were celebrating a special occasion — a joint birthday and anniversary for my aunt, uncle, and cousins — and the chef Daniel went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. Despite everything going on, he was incredibly accommodating and attentive. He made us feel completely comfortable, like the place was ours to enjoy. His genuine hospitality and attention to detail truly made the evening feel special. The ambiance, the food, and the service were all top-tier. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was lively yet intimate — perfect for a family gathering. It’s rare to find a place that balances professionalism with such a warm, welcoming vibe. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate something special — or just want to treat yourself to a great meal with even better service — Kalalous should be at the top of your list. We'll definitely be back

The food here is top tier! The temperature, portions and taste were amazing! We got the rice, beans, and chicken in one order and the legume, rice and beans in the next. I have been coming here since 2020 and will continue to come here!
